BLOG 22nd October 2009

Sorry we were unable to do our blog last week because we were so busy, so read on to find out. Last week we were finally able to make our Kites, It was hard making the Kites, however we had lots of fun making them, it took us all day Friday and all of Monday morning to finish them. We have also written instructions to make them. Unfortunately we have been unable to fly our Kites because of the poor weather. This week we have been on a trip to visit a Mosque, we all had a great time and learnt a lot from it. Whilst on the trip we brought some food which we had not seen or tasted before. Today Mr Mackie cooked it and then we all tasted some. Also, children from Easton school visited us, they taught us about Islam, we found it very interesting talking to them and finding out about them and their religion. We are looking forward to our new topic next term which is all about Bristol during WW II. Thank you Mr Mackie for organising our trip.

9thOctober 2009 Blog

This week has been a fun week because we have been doing lots of experiments to do with forces, we have all enjoyed doing these, thank you Mr Mackie. In Maths we have been adding and subtracting using different methods, we also have played some games which was fun. In Literacy we have been writing poems about a kite battle, in the poems we have used Rhyme, Onomatopoeia, Simile, metaphor, imagery, repetition and personification. We have been practising our African drumming for our assembly on Wednesday. Next week is going to be the best week ever because we a going to design and write instructions on how to make a kite for our kite festival.
