BLOG 22nd October 2009

Sorry we were unable to do our blog last week because we were so busy, so read on to find out. Last week we were finally able to make our Kites, It was hard making the Kites, however we had lots of fun making them, it took us all day Friday and all of Monday morning to finish them. We have also written instructions to make them. Unfortunately we have been unable to fly our Kites because of the poor weather. This week we have been on a trip to visit a Mosque, we all had a great time and learnt a lot from it. Whilst on the trip we brought some food which we had not seen or tasted before. Today Mr Mackie cooked it and then we all tasted some. Also, children from Easton school visited us, they taught us about Islam, we found it very interesting talking to them and finding out about them and their religion. We are looking forward to our new topic next term which is all about Bristol during WW II. Thank you Mr Mackie for organising our trip.

Our Year 5 Info!

This week in maths we have been learning about fractions, decimals and percentages. At first we found it difficult at first, but we all understand it now. In literacy we have been looking at reports and fact files, this has been linked to our topic on habitats. We have been writing up a fact file on a animal that we have invented, and describing it features that allow it to live in the habitat of our choice.
Cameron was star of the week!! well done!

Next week we begin our new topic on the weather, we are all very excited.
